Biopharmaceutical company seeking Associate Director, US Marketing who will be a key member of the U.S. Commercial Team in a start-up capacity. Company objective is to provide patients with therapeutic relief in serious diseases with high unmet medical need. Focus is on clinical-stage programs based on molecules with a history of clinical use (well-established safety and tolerability) and either initial human activity or efficacy data (proof of concept) or a strong scientific rationale. This allows us to identify molecules where clinical development can be swift (trials with evaluation windows of weeks or months) and cost effective.

Company pipeline, with both commercial products for the treatment of a rare disease as well as promising clinical-stage programs for the treatment of a rare dermatology condition are just of the few innovations ongoing with successful future patient treatments.

The Associate Director, US Marketing will work on the US launch of a medical food product for PKU and responsible for the development and execution of Health Care Professional (HCP) and patient/caregiver Marketing material.  They will have the opportunity to be a part of the launch strategy for the product and other future product launches. This role will evolve as company grows and expands its portfolio and thus, will have the opportunity to specialize in HCP, patient and/or digital Marketing. The role will report to the Executive Director and Head of U.S. Marketing.

  • Support the U.S. launch of product for patients living with PKU
  • Advance and contribute to the commercial brand strategies for all pre- and post-launch products
  • Actively contribute to the development of brand plans including launch plans
  • Crystalize commercial and strategic insights by incorporating product, brand, customer, patient, and competitive information into the development of brand plans
  • Determine key leverage points in the treatment process and patient journey
  • Support implementation and execution of brand strategy and launch operational plans
  • Lead the execution of projects identified in the annual brand tactical plans and support the ongoing management of annual budgets
  • Develop and lead an effective sales training/on-boarding program for PKU and product
  • Conduct outreach to KOLs, leading metabolic institutions, and patient advocacy groups to build effective partnerships for HCP and patient education
  • Attend HCP conferences, advisory boards, and patient camps/meetings to provide information on product and obtain key feedback on promotional campaigns
  • Learn new disease states quickly and rapidly to acquire HCP and patient/caregiver insights to inform unmet needs analysis and identify future market value drivers
  • Be a conduit between functions and teams, fostering information flow that optimizes the brand opportunity
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners
  • Establish key metrics to assess impact of marketing strategy and tactics on sales performance
  • BA/BS degree required, MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience (e.g. marketing, market research, sales, new product planning)
  • Previous launch experience required
  • Comprehensive understanding of U.S. pharmaceutical product planning and execution including new product launches, product marketing, and sales required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; proactive cross-functional communicator
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and direction
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and rapidly changing start-up environment
  • Required Travel:  20-25%

 

Location:

  • For an initial period, the role will be home-based
  • During this time, travel within the tri-state area (NJ/NY/CT) will be required 1-2 times/month for team meetings and planning sessions
  • A U.S. commercial office will be opened in 2Q 2023 in the Metro NY/tri-state area
  • Once this office is opened, 2-3 days per week should be spent working in the office

Salary:

Up to $200K+ plus Annual Bonus + significant stock options
